We’re excited to share that Fern has been acquired by Rain, a leading provider of stablecoin infrastructure globally.

Over the last two years, as Fern has grown, we’ve seen a clear shift in what builders expect from stablecoin infrastructure. Teams want wallets, payins and payouts, cross-chain bridging and swapping, cards, and more, all delivered through a single, unified API. The demand for an end-to-end platform has never been stronger.

Fern’s APIs power stablecoin orchestration and flexible payin and payout flows. Our partnership with Rain began as a way to augment our stack with card capabilities. As we worked together, it became clear that we shared the same long-term vision for unified stablecoin infrastructure. Bringing our teams together lets us deliver a more complete, more powerful platform for our customers.

The role of the Fern Multiplex

A core part of this acquisition is the Fern Multiplex, our infrastructure layer for optimizing currency conversion routes across diverse liquidity providers, blockchains, and partner banks. The multiplex enables best-in-class speed and pricing while making it easy to add new partners and serve new customer segments.

As part of the acquisition, the multiplex will be integrated directly into Rain’s platform, strengthening routing, liquidity abstraction, and the foundation for future global on/offramp connectivity.

What this means for customers

Fern will continue to support all existing customers, and current integrations will remain uninterrupted. As our platforms merge, we’ll provide a clear and minimal-disruption migration path into combined Rain + Fern solutions for Fern Business customers and developer partners.
